Ken Reid
Ken is currently operating as a freelance consultant and has recently been involved in providing services related to the negotiation of contractual terms at the interfaces between pipeline operators and storage facilities.
He is an experienced engineer with design, construction and operational experience of gas transportation systems from beach to meter with comprehensive knowledge of the contractual relationships between transportation network operators and their customers.
Ken has extensive management, commercial and negotiation experience with a reputation for successfully completing very high profile strategic work having a major impact on the UK Gas Industry.
Within National Grid Transco, formerly Transco he developed a very strong commercial team, which was responsible for commercial negotiations at all entry and exit points on the National Transmission System (NTS), including Interconnectors and Storage sites
Ken was a key player in the successful negotiation and implementation of the Interconnector entry and exit arrangements, enabling the Interconnector project at Bacton to be commissioned on time. He was also responsible for the development of new interface agreements related to delivery pressure and gas quality issues and negotiating agreements with shippers to provide additional services.
Ken is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers, a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a European Engineer.
