Chris Burston
Prior to joining TPA Solutions, Chris was a project leader and senior consultant with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young (CGEY), a multi-national consultancy.
Chris was responsible for leading a team of operational research analysts involved in a wide range of activities associated with the modelling of gas demand profiles and the development of demand allocation methodologies. This work was carried out for Transco to support their Network Code and Licence obligations. Chris' role involved leading client/shipper workstream meetings and liaising with senior client managers, as well as providing technical guidance and project management to the team.
Chris made a key contribution to the Supply Demand team within Transco and was responsible for ensuring that the peak day and severe duration demand forecasts produced by Transco complied with the standards set out in the Transporters Licence.
Before joining CGEY he held senior posts within British Gas. In the early development of the competitive gas market he worked in the Gas Transportation Services Department developing the pioneering methods behind the demand estimation elements of the Network Code.
Prior to this he was a manager of an Operational Research unit - a team of eight consultants - within British Gas and as such was responsible for providing a wide-ranging OR consultancy service to the management team.
He has strong technical abilities allied to an appreciation of key business issues, with effective project and people management skills. The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff and management and to express complex technical issues clearly is a particular strength.
