Brian Withington MBE

Brian is a former director in Transco and the Lattice Group, with a background in commercial and regulatory activities.

He has extensive experience in the design and negotiation of gas transportation and gas supply contracts throughout the era of market liberalisation in the UK, and led the negotiation of Transco's ground breaking Network Code, for which he was awarded the MBE.

Brian has considerable knowledge of regulation from close involvement in price control negotiations and MMC references as well as transport contract and tariff methodology issues.

As a Vice President of GTE and member of its Executive Committee, he has made a significant contribution to the Madrid Forum process dealing with gas market liberalisation in the EU.

Before working in gas transportation, Brian was a gas supply contract negotiator and analyst for British Gas. He led the major Bruce field price negotiation and was actively involved in many other gas purchase and allocation agreements.

Brian is a regular invited speaker at industry conferences and events throughout Europe, and is also recognized for his tactful and persuasive diplomacy, which has aided his successful transition to consultancy.
